New Webmaster Guidelines: Link Schemes manipulating PR will be considered SPAM and violation

Google has recently announced and revised their Webmaster Guidelines.
According to Webmaster Support
"Any links intended to manipulate PageRank or a site's ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines."

It means if you are intentionally trying to raise your websites PageRank by smartly using tailored anchor texts in the content on article or content posting websites, blog comments, guest blog posts, press releases, paid linking schemes etc. then definitely it is going to be considered violation of Google Webmaster Guidelines and have a negative impact on your website's position in Google SERPs.

What can cause this violation:

According to above mentioned revised webmaster guidelines:

The following kind of link types can negatively impact your website's rankings in search results:
  • Buying or selling links that pass PageRank. This includes exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links; exchanging goods or services for links; or sending someone a “free” product in exchange for them writing about it and including a link
  • Excessive link exchanges ("Link to me and I'll link to you") or partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking
  • Large-scale article marketing or guest posting campaigns with keyword-rich anchor text links
  • Using automated programs or services to create links to your site
Additionally, creating links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page, otherwise known as unnatural links, can be considered a violation of our guidelines. Here are a few common examples of unnatural links that violate our guidelines:
  • Text advertisements that pass PageRank

  • Advertorials or native advertising where payment is received for articles that include links that pass PageRank

  • Links with optimized anchor text in articles or press releases distributed on other sites. For example:
There are many wedding rings on the market. If you want to have a wedding, you will have to pick the best ring. You will also need to buy flowers and a wedding dress.

  • Low-quality directory or bookmark site links

  • Links embedded in widgets that are distributed across various sites, for example:
    Visitors to this page: 1,472
    car insurance

  • Widely distributed links in the footers of various sites

  • Forum comments with optimized links in the post or signature, for example:
    Thanks, that’s great info!
    - Paul
paul’s pizza san diego pizza best pizza san diego

How to avoid Webmaster Guidelines violation?

We can avoid above mentioned violation by following these:

  • The best way to get good quality backlinks is adding and sharing unique and interesting content that can naturally gain popularity.
  • Once again this is proved true that "Content is King". Do pay attention to your content and ways you are sharing it with internet community.
  • Don't use too much anchor text links withing your postings on your own blog or others.
  • Avoid using links in "Footer" or "Signature" during forum postings.
  • Avoid using links in Press Releases.
  • Using anchor texted links in articles or blog post is not going to pay any value anymore.
  • I can be wrong but I have tested recently using hyperlinks with anchor text within blog comments with rel="nofollow" attribute is somewhat safe.
  • Try to get social media traffic by sharing interesting, unique and relevant content, but do not try to trick people to visit your website, let it be happening only on natural way.

If you an SEO, and you find all this very complex and difficult to follow,

I would humbly like you to please consider...

"You are doomed" ... Lolz... !!! :P
